What is Ativan?
Ativan 1mg belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines (ben-zoe-dye-AZE-eh-peens). It is thought that lorazepam works by enhancing the activity of certain neurotransmitters in the brain.
Ativan 1mg is a prescription medicine used to treat anxiety disorders.

Warnings
Ativan 1mg can slow or stop your breathing, especially if you have recently used an opioid medication, alcohol, or other drugs that can slow your breathing.

Overdosing: what happens?
If you suspect poisoning, call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 or seek immediate medical attention. Taking lorazepam with alcohol, opioid medicine, or other drugs that cause drowsiness or slow breathing can lead to a fatal overdose.
A severe overdose may cause drowsiness, confusion, slurred speech, restlessness, muscle weakness, loss of balance, light-headedness, slow heartbeats, shallow or shallow breathing, or a coma.
Can Ativan cause side effects?
